Haiti - Politic : Michel Martelly in Panama for a Summit of the Americas historic... 11/04/2015 10:39:46 The President Martelly explained that the meeting was a good opportunity to develop strategies for the fight against hunger, food insecurity, poverty and insecurity "I am sure that together we will take the right decisions." On the sidelines of these assizes, the President Martelly met with several representatives of the CARICOM around some concerns of States in the region. He also met with a delegation of the US Congress headed by Jeff Duncan (Republican Party). The Head of State has, then attended the official opening ceremony of the 7th Summit of the Americas organized around the theme "Sustainable Development and Social Justice for all countries in America." This 7th Summit, the first carried out by the Panama, hosts, for the first time Cuban President Raul Castro. The President Martelly, who supported the integration process of this sister Republic (Cuba), welcomed its outcome that gives this summit a historical character. Several plenary sessions and bilateral meetings are planned at this summit, during which must take place this Saturday, the President of the Republic of Haiti, Michel Martelly. HL/ HaitiLibre
