Haiti - Culture : Double national tour for Peace
For the first time in Haiti, from April 16 to May 17, 2015 the caravan "Vwa Ayiti Pou Lapè" will bring three renowned Haitian artists: James Germain, Emeline Michel and Beethova Obas, to meet with young talents from 10 cities in Haiti, to run workshops for music creation and collective mini-concerts under the theme of peace and non-violence.

"I asked the Minustah to build and finance a national concert tour that would offer workshops for young musicians from vulnerable communities across the country," explained James Germain "The campaign Ann Chwazi Lapè has a real sense and is good to develop something meaningful with a clear message."

"The antidote to violence is precisely Peace," reminds Beethovas Obas who wishes through this tour to contribute to the consolidation of a peaceful environment in Haiti.

The three artists will work from April 16 to May 17, 2015 with the selected artists (musicians singers and composers) who will offer collective concerts for peace and non-violence.

In addition, from May 4 to June 5, the caravan "Chimen kwaze pou Lapè" of the Haitian troup "les Rescapés" will stop in 22 communities across the country. The theater play-forum will encourage public participation to raise the challenges faced by each commune and declined according to the themes : community and electoral violence, violence against women and child trafficking at border "They are in large part cities where teams of the Minustah and their partners of the civil society have identified recurring problems," says Sophie Boudre, head of outreach and advocacy projects to the UN Mission.

Recall that the project of this double tour "Vwa Ayiti pou lapè" and "Chimen Kwaze pou Lapè" was implemented by the collaboration of the Minsutah with two Haitian structures "Les Rescapés" and "Tamise", in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Organization of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Haiti, the French Institute of Haiti, the network of French Alliances in Haiti and for some cities , local partners.
