Haiti - Economy : 5th Summit on finance and technology
The 5th Summit on Finance and Applied Technology, of Group Croissance SA, will be held for 5 days at the Hotel Karibe from 20 to 24 April.

For 5 days, participants will discuss, among other on themes related to exports, municipal finance, public finance, banking and insurance. Foreign personalities of finance will also participate in the summit and share experiences with Haitian actors, explained the economist Kesner Pharel CEO of Group Croissance.

Kesner Pharel advocates for the development of a five-year plan to increase exports and reduce the pressure on the exchange rate in Haiti and to diversify our exports, which shows a huge trade deficit (800 million export for 3 billion import), stressing that agriculture accounts for less than 15% of the GDP of the Dominican Republic (GDP $ 60 billion), while it is 25% in GDP of Haiti (GDP = 8 billion dollars) highlighting "Today, we can not make the mistake of being a predominantly agricultural Republic. Surely, would require to would require boost manufacturing, communications technologies, textiles, tourism, to bring maximum currencies."

Program Summary :

Monday, April 20 : (Municipal Finance)
The theme will focus on municipal finance in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities. Will be discussed to strengthen the commune taxation, municipal governance through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) while no commune in Haiti manages to collect $10 million in tax revenue.

Tuesday, April 21 : (Corporate Finance)
The Ministry of Trade and Industry will make an inventory of the measures put in place to take off exports, projects in agriculture, industrial parks and micro-parks. The Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a subsidiary of the World Bank, Philippe Prosper (Haitian) will intervene that day.

Wednesday, April 22 : (Public finance, SME financing and microfinance)
The Ministry of Economy and Finance will explain the mechanisms of the budget. An important day for parties who enter the race to take tomorrow the Power.

Thursday, April 23 : (Bank and non-bank financing)
The Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) will present the state of monetary policy and the outlook for the next fiscal year. Several foreign actors will intervene. A panel will be devoted to energy, and electricity problems. Ecuadorian personalities who have faced similar problems will share their experiences.

Friday, April 24 : (Municipal finance, insurance, and electronic mone)
The insurance sector at round tables will present in particular legislation on insurance and the products of the "Office National d’Assurance". Will also be addressed: cyber security, e-money and mobile banking (money dematerialized).
