Prime Minister seeks to reduce the number of parties
Tuesday at the Hotel Karibe, at the opening of the 5th International Summit on Finance and Applied Technology, Prime Minister Evans Paul declared "I am committed to contribute to the organization of credible, honest and transparent elections. This is imperative to organize this year good elections. I struggle to find the formula to reduce the number of political parties to participate in the upcoming elections. We are committed so that there is this year a credible, fair and transparent elections. This is the Haitian State who is called to hold elections at the end of the year. These elections are essential for political change. I invite the private business sector to engage civically, politically and economically to the success of the next elections."

Camille Chalmers advocates the electoral decolonization
Camille Chalmers the Executive Secretary of the Haitian Advocacy Platform for Alternative Development (PAPDA) advocates the decolonization of the electoral machinery deploring "We have embarked on a scheme that can reproduce the caricature 2010-2011 where all the control levers were in the hands of external agents," according to Chalmers if Haiti "wants to recover its sovereignty, we must build a truly independent electoral apparatus controlled by Haitian actors."

Senator Riché, equires more time
Andris Riché, the President of the Senate, asked the Electoral Council that the registration period for candidates in the legislative be extended until April 26, explaining that this is necessary because many candidates have trouble getting within the period some documents required by the CEP. Recall that the registration deadline originally planned to April 19, had already been extended to 23 April. Pre-registration online, will close on April 22 at midnight. New President at BED of North
