Haiti - Health : The Haitian state spends 100 times less on health care than Cuba 29/04/2015 12:08:37
Sophia Martelly called for universal access to care, which remains a major challenge for Haiti, hence the importance of engaging debates on the funding of this sector. These figures demonstrate the precariousness of health in Haiti, which has been widely discussed among participants in search of the best way to take off the Haitian health system. Healthcare where Haitian households are paying 29 cents on a gourde while the international community contributes 68 cents for each gourde spent in health in the country. The Minister Guillaume has questioned at length on the problems of finance "how to deal with this reduction of the external assistance that is imminent and gradually reverse the 68% of spending it supports, of which 42% are managed by international organizations and 19% by local NGOs."
