Haiti - Economy : Signature of a trade agreement with Mexico
Wednesday, as part of the working day entitled "Doing Business" which was held in the new Marriott hotel, Norma Powell, Director of Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) and Francisco Diaz, the Director of ProMéxico in the presence of representatives of the signatory institutions, Haitian entrepreneurs and a large delegation of Mexican entrepreneurs https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13696-haiti-economyimportant-mission-of-mexican-entrepreneurs-in-haiti.html , signed a memorandum of understanding, to promote a new approach to the development of trade between the two countries in order to increase economic growth between the two countries.

Through this agreement and others to be signed, which are being finalized, diplomats from both countries see only positive bilateral benefits for the economy and job creation.

José Luis González Alvarado, Ambassador of Mexico in Port-au-Prince has stressed that this 3rd Mexican trade mission was justified because of the real potential of Haiti as part of trade and investment, adding that the Mexican private sector are seeing business opportunities, particularly in the construction industry, auto parts, textiles, technology and tourism.

For Guy Lamothe, the Ambassador of Haiti in Mexico, this is the type of cooperation that our country needs, calling on Haitian and Mexican private sectors, to fully understand the opportunity of this situation in order to create wealth in both countries.
