Haiti - News : Electoral Zapping...
Louis Gérald Gilles wants to appeal the decision of BCED in favor of Sophia Martelly
Although the verdict of BCED of West ruled in favor of Sophia Martelly https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13733-haiti-flash-verdict-of-bced-in-favor-of-sophia-martelly.html Louis Gérald Gilles, one of the challengers, Senate candidate (Fanmi Lavals), wants to appeal against the judgment to the National Electoral Office (BCEN), but he said waiting for the advice of Me Gervais Charles his lawyer before to take a final decision... One can hardly see what the appeal could change, Me Gregory Mayard Paul having prove the falsity of accusations of dual nationality and accounting of public funds by depositingto the BCED the birth certificate extracts archives of the father and mother of Ms Martelly (both Haitian), the transcript of his birth certificate on Haitian registers, the act of renunciation of his American citizenship in English legalized https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13727-haiti-news-electoral-zapping.html and official translation of the act and a certificate produced by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which shows that the president's wife never has managed state funds and no specimen signature has been identified on a document.

If however Gérald Gilles Louis decided to initiate the procedure yhey are the electoral advisers who will sit at BCEN, to review the documents filed by both parties. Recall that the BCEN is onstituted under Article 18 of the Electoral Decree of the following way "The BCEN is based at Provisional Electoral Council. It consists of three (3) sections.

Each section is composed of two (2) electoral advisers, assisted by two (2) lawyers and one (1) professional judge, drawn as follows :

Advisors are drawn from among the members of the CEP, except the president who is not sitting. Lawyers serving on BCEN are designated by draw from a list submitted by the National Federation of the bars of Haiti, among the lawyers regularly registered who have at least five (5) years of professional practice and not being subject to any sanction.

Magistrates sitting at BCEN are drawn from a list submitted by the CSPJ, who have at least five (5) years in judicial office and have not been the subject of any disciplinary sanction."

Missing 27 million for the elections...
66 million are needed to organize elections according to figures of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13636-haiti-news-electoral-zapping.html . Currently, only 37.9 million dollars (57.5%) were confirmed: 13.8 million US dollars funded by Haiti (36.4%), 6.8 million of the European Union, 6.5 million by the United States, 5.3 million from Canada, 4.5 million in Japan and 1 million from Brazil. The lack of 27 million does not seem to worry the Prime Minister Paul which wants to be reassuring. He said that "if donors fail to disburse on time, or perhaps do not want to disburse additional amounts," the government will take the necessary steps to find funds internally to supplement the budget...

Call of the OPC for the elections
Florence Elie, the Protector of Citizens and citizen (OPC) invites the public to participate massively in the upcoming elections. She advises candidates to renounce violence in all its forms and voters to choose leaders capable of improving their living conditions.
