Haiti - Justice : Call for a peaceful march against impunity
Following the controversial release of Woodly Etheart aka Sonson La Familia and Renel Nelfot aka Renel Le Récif, that the National Police had identified as the two main leaders of the "Gang Galil", 14 institutions, organizations and individuals of Haitian civil society condemn in the strongest terms "this outrageous and illegal release by Judge Lamarre Bélizaire with the complicity of the Government Commissioner Me Kerson Darius Charles and of Dean of the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, Me Raymond Jean-Michel."

Faced with such a scandalous decision and detrimental to the efforts to promote the cause of the rule of law in Haiti, the signatories of this statement demands "strong and drastic measures to save the honor of the Republic. So they ask : That an administrative and judicial investigation is conducted to determine the circumstances in which that decision was taken and determine the responsibility of all those involved in this scandalous decision. The Court of Cassation and the Court of Appeal of the Republic of Haiti quickly decide on appeals lodged in front them, in order to redeem the Republic of this degradation. That on the basis of the results of that investigation, appropriate decisions are taken against all those involved in this matter."

"Faced with that defilement made to the Haitian justice and the entire nation, the institutions, organizations and individuals of Haitian civil society signatories of this declaration invite citizens of all social strata indignant to mobilize in order to attend a large peaceful march against impunity, Wednesday, May 6, 2015."

The march will begin at 10 a.m. at the statue of Emperor Jean-Jacques Dessalines at Champ de Mars, will make a stop in front of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security to be completed front the Procuratorate of First Instance of Port au-Prince.
