Haiti - Education : Message from the Minister of Education 17/05/2015 10:47:57
"Colleague teachers On the occasion of this International Day, on behalf of all mothers and fathers and students, I bend to salute all the teachers who are the backbone of the education system, and I would say, the pillar of society I say you once again all the respect I have for you, for the quality of the work you do every day by supervising our children and putting them on the path of knowledge for them to be useful, to their families and to the society of tomorrow. We know that this work is not easy. The conditions are often not met to allow the learning to be done better. That is why we are committed with you teachers and other stakeholders, to change the face of education. The decree of 12 measures https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11781-haiti-education-exam-results-disappointing-the-minister-manigat-announced-a-package-of-measures.html is the foundation that allows us to better move forward and provide more value to the teaching profession. The temporary teaching permit that will be distributed throughout the country, will pave the way for improving the image of teachers in our society. Now, anyone can not come in this business if it is not trained for that. It will also allow those who are trained to do more work each day to take grade in their profession, because the decree on the special status of educational staff, gives those that continue to train more consideration. The State will continue to make efforts to improve the conditions of teachers, helping them to train, give them benefits such as the Advantage Card for teachers, providing them the best tools to improve the quality of their work, and help them master the information and communications technology to change the way classes are taught in schools today. This work will require the understanding and patience of everyone, but especially your commitment in the fight to change the lives of teachers, change the image of the school. Thank you for all the sacrifices you have made and we will continue to do them together to advance the cause of education that is the cause of all. Let's continue to commit ourselves to improve the quality of teaching conditions and the life of every teacher. It is in the dialogue we have to do it, in the sharing of ideas and school supports that we rebuild the education system, which must train the childrenfor they succeed at working for the sustainable development of Haiti, our country.
