Haiti - NOTICE : Update of measures against Ebola
In a note dated 20 May 2015, Dr. Florence D. Guillaume, Minister of Public Health and Population (MSPP) reiterates the absolute need to protect Haiti from the introduction of the Ebola viral disease on its territory.

"Taking into account the latest report from the World Health Organization (WHO) declaring the stopping of the transmission of Ebola in Liberia, it was decided to exclude this destination from the list of countries at risk.

However, always taking into account the particular vulnerability of Haiti, the previous recommendations are maintained despite the considerable progress made to contain the disease in the remaining affected countries such as Sierra Leone and Guinea-Conakry, except if absolutely necessary.

All those who have traveled in countries mentioned above can not and should not attempt to enter Haiti before a minimum period of 21 days after the departure of or affected country (ies).

The Ministry of Interior will ensure that the 21-day incubation period is scrupulously respected. The authorities present at ports of entry must ensure that the instructions for checking the travel documents are recalled to the relevant services.

Anyone who has traveled in the mentioned countries and with symptoms of Ebola, en route or after arrival in Haiti, even after 21 days, must consult a doctor immediately in order to protect the health and immediate environment and the country as a whole.

This note replaces all previous notes on the same subject."
