Haiti - News : Electoral Zapping...
Moïse Jean Charles it is not yet won
Following the decision of the Departmental Electoral Office of Litigation (BCED) in favor of former Senator Moïse Jean Charles, presidential candidate https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14081-haiti-flash-rejection-of-the-candidacy-of-laurent-lamothe.html Assad Volcy, of the "Pitit Dessalines' platform stated that "This news was without surprise" saying that Moïse Jean-Charles had "fulfilled all the conditions required by law. Allowing him to pocket his ticket for the next election." A premature statement because the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) has yet to release the final list of candidates and that the victory of Moïse before the BCED (which judged only the challenge and not the validity of the documents) does not guarantee that the CEP will not reject him from the list of approved candidates, in case of default of one of the 15 documents required in the Electoral Decree.

Fanmi Lavalas asks a 2nd extension of registrations...
For Fanmi Lavalas, the big problem is mainly the online registration of candidates for the local authorities, stressing that the lack of internet access in remote areas of the country is a constraint and Fanmi Lavalas wishes for this reason that registration for the candidates to local authorities be extended at least until June 15. Remember that this registration deadline has been extended by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to June 7, 2015 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14052-haiti-elections-second-extension-of-the-registration-deadline.html

The Platform « JISTIS » denounces
The Platform of the radical opposition "JISTIS", welcomes the verdict of BCED to have recommended the sidelining of the former Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe of teh race https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14081-haiti-flash-rejection-of-the-candidacy-of-laurent-lamothe.html However, the Platform expressed his amazement over the maintenance in the race of other former public fund managers who do not have certificate of discharge. JISTIS denounced "a systematic violation, suspicious and unacceptable to the Constitution and the Electoral Decree, likely to discredit the entire process."

Encouragements of Sandra Honoré
Earlier this week, Sandra Honoré, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Haiti declared "I encourage women to participate as candidates in local and municipal elections whose date of registration ends on June 7. I appeal to all Haitians, including people with disabilities and youth of the country, these new voters who will vote for the first time, to carefully weigh what is at stake, to examine the candidates' program and consciously choose, without pressure of any kind, those who, by their decisions, shape their future and the future of the country.

I encourage those who challenge their ineligibility to do this in accordance with procedures. I am confident that the PNH will play its role in the maintenance of order and justice, his, in the application of penalties under the electoral decree condemning crimes against offenders [...]"
