"Pitit Dessalines" will analyze the morality of candidates

No more reassuring on the side of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) where Pierre Louis Opont, President of the Council indicates that this date is not provided in the electoral calendar and that the CEP has not received any funds for this purpose. Furthermore he stated that the terms and conditions of of party financing and political groups that will participate in future elections, will be discussed soon...

Recall that 500 million gourdes subsidies are provided to finance the 126 political entities authorized to take part in the presidential, parliamentary and local elections according to the modality provided for in Article 125 and 126 of the Electoral Decree, which states "[...] on the occasion of electoral competitions, the state grants to parties political, to political groups with accredited candidates for elections, grants to help them conduct their electoral campaign [...]" and Article 126 states that "the amount of the grant to be awarded to parties and political groups involved, depending on the number of approved candidates, will be determined by the Provisional Electoral Council following the budget allocated for this purpose by the State." No financial subsidy will be allocated for independent candidates (Article 126.1)

Extension of 48 hours
The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) on Monday decided to grant a new period of 48 hours to candidates in municipal and local elections to finalize their registrations, bringing this second extension to Tuesday, June 9th at midnight.
