Maryse Narcisse claims to be Haitian
Tuesday during a press conference, Maryse Narcisse, presidential candidate for the Fanmi Lavalas party said she had never renounced to the Haitian nationality, denouncing the attempt by some opponents to prevent her from participating in the forthcoming elections.

The unsuccessful candidates are unlikely to be reintegrated
Pierre Manigat Jr., Board Vice President Provisional Electoral (CEP) expressed doubts about the opportunity to reintegrate in the electoral race, candidates excluded. He also said that the eviction of other presidential candidates is still possible, if it turned out they did not meet the requirements of the electoral law or the Constitution, describing the contested decisions taken by the office of electoral disputes and the CEP, as logical...

Safety of women candidates in elections
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Women and Women's Rights (MCFDF), organized in partnership with the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) a workshop for reflection on the strategies to be developed to ensure the safety of women candidates in the upcoming elections.

Yves Rose Morquette, the Minister of MCFDF expressed concern about verbal and physical violence whose are all too often victims of women candidates during elections. She indicated that the Ministry together with the Minustah and the National Police of Haiti (PNH) is considering a strategy to protect women.

Too late to correct new errors on the ballots
The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) reminded parties, political groups and candidates in particular that the ballots models validation period ended Saturday, June 20, 2015. Given the demands made for the production of models and the printing of ballots, the CEP is not able to meet any new demand relative to the change of images or emblems of candidates of parties or political groupings.
