Haiti - Jacmel : 5 projects for 436.000 euros 17/10/2010 12:00:39
A secondary school for 200 girls and a boarding school for 50 more will be built in the town of Gressier by the NGO "Youth and Development" and a center for 120 children orphaned by the NGO "Project Outreach" which will serve as a center of psychological recovery, the fight against stress and educational support to Leogane are two of five projects funded by this charity campaign. Were also approved the projetc of "Manos Unidas" for the construction of 27 homes in the community of Lavial in Jacmel who will relocate 250 people, and the project access to drinking water SOTERMUN for 150 families in the community of Leogane, with the installation of two water processing plants. Finally, the 13,000 inhabitants of the commune of Haut-Coq-Chante and Bas-Coq-Chante in Jacmel, will benefit from a project of the Assembly of Cooperation for Peace to food security that will facilitate the recovery of 12 hectares of arable land in the watershed and 17 km of ditches to fight against the rain and flood risks. In addition, 180 people will receive training in agricultural technology to fight against soil erosion. On the other hand, the community council, through the Fundación Castellano-Manchego will launch a free technical assistance for project evaluation for donors and local companies that are linked to the Cooperation Fund. The objective is to facilitate the management of companies and standardize the criteria in this area, ultimately the continued development assistance to better quality and more efficient.
