Regarding the budget, no help of the Haitian state has been received so far on a budget of 32 million gourdes indicated Alain Lébert Jean-Pierre, Secretary General of the Haitian Olympic Committee, despite the importance of these games for Haitian athletes in forecast the next Olympic Games in Brazil. Learn more : Pan American Games :(July 10 to 20, 2015) Haiti has participated in all the Pan American Games since the start in Buenos Aires in 1951, when the country won a bronze medal. At Guadalajara 2011, Haiti sent 12 athletes who competed in five sports: athletics, judo, tennis, weightlifting and taekwondo. Among them was US-born and Harvard-educated Samyr Laine, who placed fifth in the triple jump. Haiti has won seven medals, placing the country thirty-first on the all-time Pan Am Games medals list. The country has yet to win a gold medal coming into TORONTO 2015. Parapan American Games (from 7 to 15 August 2015) These Games are a multi-sport event, held every four years in which to bring together disabled athletes of countries of the Americas. Haiti first appeared at the Parapan Am Games at Rio de Janeiro 2007, competing in athletics, powerlifting and table tennis. At Guadalajara 2011, Haiti sent four athletes to compete in two sports: athletics and cycling. Haiti has yet to win a medal at the Parapan Am Games. BF/ HaitiLibre
