Haiti - Dominican Republic : Voluntary Returns, figures of the DPC
According to the latest report of the Directorate of Civil Protection, from 21 June to 9 July 2015, a total of 19,138 people from Dominican Republic, arrived in Haiti through official entry posts and unofficial entry points alongside haitian-dominican border.

Of these 19,138 people, 6.116 came through official entry points, and 13,022 by unofficial.

8,480 entered by Ouanaminthe, 2,829 by Belladère, 1,725 by Lascahobas, 1,609 by Cornillon, 1,509 by Ganthier, 1,306 by Anse-à-Pitre, 848 by Savanette, 275 by Thomassique, 142 by Capotille, 114 by Cerca-La-Source, 113 by Fonds-verrettes, 87 by Thomonde, 65 by Mont-Organisé, 22 by Carice, 8 by Ferrier and 6 by Thomazeau.

Sources used for official entry posts are : the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration of the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities; and for unofficial points the National Migration Office, City Halls and Coordinators of CASEC and structures of civil protection of 4 border departments.

In terms of needs, the DPC underlines in its report the necessity : of strengthening border monitoring mechanisms for monitoring of the arrivals ; strengthening of structures and system of registration ; the reception and assistance to vulnerable groups ; the identification of specific cases related to protection for those at risk of statelessness ; the strengthening of coordination with the civil society actors operating in the border communes ; the standardization of registry mechanisms, data collection and analysis.
