The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH) proceeded this week at the launch of the firs Student Solidarity Brigade (BESO-UEH).

This new device is currently composed of 84 students, volunteers of both sexes, from different entities of the UEH across the country. The BESO-UEH is a civic service initiative aimed, not only to accompany the Haitian people in emergency situations, risks and disasters, but also to prevent them by vulnerability studies throughout the country.

These young people have attended several training modules on conflict management; risk management and disaster; basic first aid techniques; management of emergency situations and of natural major natural hazards. Other training sessions will be organized continuously for the benefit of members of the BESO-UEH, which will benefit from theoretical concepts and additional technical capacity to effectively fulfill their mission.

Recall that the establishment of this Brigade is part of the mission of service to the community of the UEH, a way to allow these young students to render the Haitian society a part of the cost of their education supported by the Treasury. Note that on the occasion of this launch, the brigadiers received a parchment certifying their training.
