In addition, the Director of BME urges the authorities to effectively protect the careers of sands whose exploitation is banned citing the career of Morne l’hôpital located on a protected watershed. He also requested that the mines located in urban areas should no longer be exploited because they are dangerous in case of earthquake, citing among other ones on the road Montrouis on Route Nationale #1. Finally, recalling that the period of aftershocks is not yet complete in Haiti, he wanted to be reassuring, saying that people need not fear another quake of the importance of the January 12, nor in the days, nor in the coming weeks based on the fact that historically he never had 2 major earthquakes that follow.
