Haiti - Elections : OAS, 28 observers from 12 countries in all departments 08/08/2015 11:47:09 The Mission, made up of 28 observers from 12 countries, will be present in all the departments of the country. The OAS/EOM was the first international observation mission to begin its work ahead of Sunday’s elections. The observers of the mobile unit have been in the country since June 22nd, witnessed the start of the election campaign and have visited all departments. Former Costa Rican Foreign Minister Castillo visited the country earlier in July. The Mission will analyze various aspects of the process including electoral organization, the use of technology and the participation of women. On Monday following the election, the Mission will make public its preliminary findings. Following the elections, a final report including observations and recommendations aimed at improving the electoral system will be submitted to the OAS Permanent Council. HL/ HaitiLibre
