Haiti - Culture : D-9 Carifesta XII unveils its program
The Carifesta XII artistic direction submitted a version of the program of events to be held from August 21 to 30 in the West department, Jacmel, Les Cayes, Gonaives and Cap-Haitien. Dozens of artists, creators, known and unknown craftsmen therein. Emeline Michel, James Germain, Erol Josué, the Tabou Combo, Mikaband, J Perry, are in the list of artists chosen on Haitian side. Among the artists and Caribbean groups that we will receive there are Tammy Baldeo, Ophélia, Antigua DBurnz et Flash Mob Barbados, Anthony Drew etc.

The Haitians artists and groups participating in the Carifesta opening ceremony on August 21 will be : Emeline Michel, James Germain, Erol Josué, Bethova Obas, Jerrie Longchamp, Carole Demesmin, the Dance School Lynn William Rouzier, lthe e Ballet Bacoulou, Haiti Dansco, Ayiti Chœur de femme, Tabou Combo.

Among the foreign artists that we will have the happiness of seeing progress during the festival, there will be the Barbadian Alisson Hinds, the interpreter of the famous title "Roll it gal", she interpreted "Let’s go" with the Haitian group Harmonik. Julia Varis, artist well known in Mexico, Ophélia Marie, great figure of Dominica ; Biggie, an idol to the Barbade.

It is at the National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE) that will be installed the "Youth Village" and this is also there that will take place throughout the duration of the Festival, the exhibition "Haiti earth of all beginnings." We will have to BNE declamations of the Barbadian poet Dempste Simons and storytellers, Jamaica and Guyana, Ameena Blackwood Meeks and Bibi Azeez.

All the rooms of Ciné Théâtre Triomphe will host events. Concerts, dance performances, theater and film. Mexico and Cuba are the countries that have proposed more movies. The National Pantheon Museum (MUPANAH) propose, from August 20, the exhibition "Memory sharing", it is even this exhibition that is at the top of the list of events for Carifesta XII whose the opening ceremony will be on August 21, at Kiosk Occide Jeanty, attended by the President of the Republic, Michel Martelly, Prime Minister Mr Evans Paul and several Heads of State and of Caribbean Governments.

Jacmel, Les Cayes, Gonaives, Cap Haitien will receive concerts, puppet shows, workshops, film screenings. There are dozens of Caribbean people that will have the privilege of visiting the lakous Soukri, Souvenance and Badio.

The communication of Professor Laennec Hurbon at the National Library, at the symposium organized as part of Carifesta XII Haiti, will be titled "The Caribbean and its memory as a project," Haiti is the land of all beginnings.

Exposure of Leroy Clarke of Trinidad, will be held at Nader Gallery, and entrance to the exhibition is free.

The opening of the exhibition "Memory sharing" at the National Pantheon Museum, will take place on August 20 and represents the first major event of Carifesta XII Haiti.

Saturday, August 22, it's the President Michel Martelly, accompanied by "Masquerade" from Barbados and Guyana, which will officially open officially the Grand Market in the Champ de Mars by symbolically cutting the ribbon. An opening ceremony will also be held at the Grand Market with the Representative of Antigua, Rara Léogâne, the Ballet of the National Theatre, Bélo, Trinidadian and Tobago Steel Pan, T-Micky and MC Kado.
