Haiti - Politic : Call to the binational dialogue between truckers federations
The Ministers of Interior and Territorial Communities, Defence, Foreign Affairs, Economy and Finance, the representatives of Technical Council of Management and Development of Borders (CTF) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14817-haiti-politic-towards-a-better-management-of-borders.html , met with the Union of Haitian Transporters represented by Fritz Constant, Joseph Montes, Nelson Jean Sanet, Romain Derissaint to shed light on the unfortunate events that occurred at the border point of Malpasse-Jimani from 24 to 26 July 2015 which began with a fight at the Haitian-Dominican border and resulted in the death of a Haitian in yet unclear circumstances,  https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14686-haiti-flash-dr-will-stop-supplying-haiti-in-3-days.html

The Haitian Government through the CTF, regrets that such acts continue to perpetuate at the border and condemns the attacks and acts of vandalism committed thereafter against the Dominican truckers and goods and merchants, who led to the stopping of transport freet to Haiti by Dominican truckers, since Monday 27 July https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14714-haiti-flash-total-paralysis-of-freight-at-the-border.html

Furthermore, the Technical Commission of Management and Border Development calls for calm the residents of Malpasse, Fonds Parisisens, Fonds Bayard and the surroundings and to "respect the principles of law, of live together and good neighborliness, by being especially careful of the respect of the property of others."

Measures decided by the CTF :
The Commission proposes to Haitian transporters unions to engage in constructive dialogue with the Federation of Dominicans of carriers FENATRADO to make every effort to find a lasting agreement to ensure regular and smooth flow of traffic between the Republic of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, whether on Malpasse or other transit points for goods and people on the border area in general;

The Commission is committed to finding ways and means, together with the National Police of Haiti, the General Administration of Customs, the structures of National Defence, to enhance the safety of vehicles, goods and people in all the border crossing axes. 

The Commission members also undertake to continue efforts to modernize trans-border transportation structures. In this perspective, the Haitian Government will very soon put inbe in place first in Fonds Bayard zone of Malpasse, a transhipment hub which will be operated jointly with Customs, the Union of Haitian carriers and specialized firms in order to secure and better organize the transport of goods in this border axis https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14816-haiti-dominican-republic-insecurity-in-haiti-affects-entrepreneurs-of-both-countries.html

The Ministers of Interior, Defence, Economy and Finance, accompanied by members of the Executive Secretariat of the Technical Commission Management and Development of Borders reiterated to Haitians carriers their full support in the ongoing proceedings to regularize the situation at the borders and stressed the firm determination of the Haitian Government to maintain order and peace on the 380 km of borders of the country.
