Haiti - Social : 32 boat people arrested near the Florida coast 18/08/2015 09:48:18
Monday morning 32 boat people (13 men, 9 women and 10 children), mainly of Haitian origin were arrested about 19 kilometers north of Palm Beach (Florida), after the state security forces have localized 2 miles from the coast, a boat stolen in Bahamas.
According to the sheriff's Palm Beach County, who made the announcement, all migrants were healthy.
Frank Miller, spokesman of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection "It is not yet known if this group of migrants was transported by smugglers."
Note that the number of Haitian migrants, who tried to reach the United States across the Florida Straits fell sharply in 2015, according to the Coast Guard.
