Haiti - Economy : A starting ramp for companies 23/08/2015 10:00:25 The Business Accelerator is a comprehensive support offered to newly created enterprises and to the holders of new projects in order to boost primarily the agricultural value chain and agro-industry in order to expand opportunities for decent jobs and sustainable livelihoods in the regions. The Business Accelerator is a set of initiatives that promote the rapid development of small enterprises in priority sectors identified in the framework of the overall strategy of private sector development and especially for the creation of Micro Industrial Parks. It is also a device hosting companies in gestation or in activity and accelerate their growth through support mechanisms (supporting the development of business proposals, technical and managerial assistance), training and access to funding. This accelerator is for people who are in a business creation process or already have a business fulfilling the eligibility criteria that are : to be in the creation phase, having a development potential but have difficulty of financing or technical assistance. Assistance will be based mainly on the viability of business plans, including the number of direct and indirect jobs that will be created within the identified sectors. This tool is intended for all innovative initiatives with viable economic scope involved mainly in the priority sectors identified by the MCI and taking into account the formality of the business. The program also promotes the conditions of maturation and development of projects by the business growth process, by providing entrepreneurs with financing instruments adapted to their situation, to stimulate and structuring sectors of activities specific and revitalize local sectors. he Business Accelerator is considered by the Ministry "as a starting ramp for companies," a way for the MCI to work directly with them.
