Haiti - Justice : An unprecedented innovation in the annals of Haitian justice 02/10/2015 10:57:32 It is a system that enables the capture, tracking and computer control of court records. Its implementation by the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) and the Haitian Government, through the Ministry of Justice, was realized with the support of project PROJUSTICE of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which provided the necessary computer equipment. For Me Bernard St-Vil, the Dean of the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, this is an unprecedented innovation in the annals of Haitian justice, convinced that this project will allow faster tracking of Judicial cases and respect for procedural deadlines. Me Marceau Jude Edouard Junior, the National Director of PROJUSTICE, promised that his organization will continue to support the project during its implementation. For his part, Me Pierre-Richard Casimir, the Minister of Justice expressed appreciation for to kick off the project, which marks the beginning of digitization of judicial data. According to his explanations, the Computerized Judicial Case Management, will allow heads of courts to review the course and the progress of court records. It will promote transparency and objectivity in the recruitment, treatment and disposal of cases through rapid access to records for all actors and stakeholders, including the litigant.
