Haiti - Elections : Official Changes in the electoral timetable

Following meetings with the presidential candidates and the legal representatives of political parties, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) announced this week several changes in the electoral timetable.

The first round of the presidential and municipal will take place on 25 October and the second round of the partial legislative in areas where the vote of August 9 was normal. This same date will be devoted to the organization of the first round of legislative elections where the elections on August 9 were interrupted.

December 27 will take place, if necessary, the second round of presidential elections and the second round of legislative elections of August 9 as well as the local elections.

Definitive official timetable, revised :

October 25, 2015 :

  • First round of presidential ;

  • Second round of legislative August 9 ;

  • First round of partial legislative (resumption of voting) ;

  • Municipal elections.

December 27th, 2015 :

  • Second round of presidential, if applicable ;

  • Second round of partial legislative (resumption of voting) ;

  • Local elections (CASEC ASEC and city delegates).
