Haiti - Music : The largest Haitian violinist passed away...

In a note, Jean Marc Arthur Orante, the Minister of Culture of the Youth Government of Haiti (GJH), learned with regret the death of the largest Haitian violinist Romel Joseph (56) occurred at the Hospital Bernard Mevs, on the morning of Tuesday, October 6, following a heart attack.

"The Youth Government of Haiti salutes the departure of this exceptional musician who had a forty-year career, and who has worked all his life by supporting public and private schools in the country in order to integrate music into their curriculum. Undoubtedly, his dexterity and accuracy of master will leave a void that can never be filled.

In these painful circumstances, the GJH extends its sincere condolences to his family, his relatives, his friends, all Haitian artists and all those afflicted by this disappearance."
