Haiti - Sports : Launch of the Emperor Races
Tuesday in press conference at the Primature, Jimmy Albert the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action in the presence of Emmanuel Eliacin, Departmental Director of the West Department, former Haitian marathoner, Dieudonné Lamothe and Kénel Léveillé, President of the Haitian Cycling Federation (HCF), presented the Emperor Races program to be held at the Champ-de-mars on 17 and 18 October.

As part of the commemoration of the 209th anniversary of the death of the Emperor Jean Jacques Dessalines, Father of the Haitian Nation, the Ministry in partnership with the Haitian Amateur Athletics Federation (FHAA), is organizing a 10 km race for youth 16-20 years, linking Pont Rouge o the statue of Emperor Jean Jacques Dessalines at the Champ-de-mars.

Sports activities will continue Sunday with the cyclist Criterium organized by the FHC at Champ-de-mars and ending in St. Therese Park in Petionville with the great final of the Emperor's Cup.

Joseph Emmanuel Eliacin, Activities Coordinator announced that 2,000 students will participate with bands and platoons of honor at a civic parade through the streets of the capital. 3,000 others will parade until Kiosk Occide Jeanty which will host the closing ceremony.
