Haiti - Norway : Grant of $850,000 to fight against cholera
Ramon Ripoll, Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and foreign investment and Jan Tore Holvik, Norway's Ambassador in Havana on Friday signed an agreement to help the Haitian government to fight against the cholera epidemic. A first agreement of a similar amount had been signed in January after the earthquake.

According to the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Norway has donated US$850,000 for the purchase and shipment of medical supplies and other material resources for Haiti.

Cuba provided a medical assistance to Haiti for over a decade, but increased its assistance after the seism (at least 855 Cuban doctors are on the ground). The head of the Haitian Health confirmed Friday that the death toll of the epidemic increased by 8.20% bringing the number of people died of cholera at 330 (figure from last Thursday) and 4.714 (+13.9%) the number of infected persons receiving care.
