Haiti - Environment : Chancellor Renauld at the ACS symposium 25/11/2015 10:17:57 The forum, held in Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago) on 23 and 24 November was organized on the sidelines of the need and the urgency to develop actions to protect the Caribbean Sea and the development of countries of the Region, will present among others, workshops on the threat of Sargasso seaweed and erosion of coastal areas. The symposium was chaired by the Dominican Chancellor Andrés Navarro Acting Chairman of the Sea Commission, within the ACS. The two Chancellors, Haitian and Dominican, enjoyed their stay in Trinidad to discuss during the Forum of subjects of common interest to the two Republics. However, should not be execepted announcements at the end of their meeting; recall that the attempts of rapprochement between the two governments to find solutions in particular on the issue of trade and immigration, have not made progress in recent weeks due to the post-election crisis now raging in Haiti. It should be stressed that Haiti, through its Foreign Minister, holds the acting Presidency of the Executive Board of the Council of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) for the period 2015-2016. Furthermore, note that Haiti will host in January 2016, the twenty-first Regular Meeting of the Board of ACS Ministers. Chancellor Lener Renauld will be back in Haiti this Wednesday. SL/ HaitiLibre
