Steven Benoit and Moïse Jean Charles crying foul !

Steven Benoit (Konviksyon) and Moïse Jean Charles (Pitit Dessalines), both members of the G8 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15700-haiti-elections-for-the-g8-as-published-results-are-unacceptable.html have described as scandalous the final results of presidential elections. They denounce a vast conspiracy to impose on the population Jovenel Moise (PHTK), the government candidate. They announce that the G8 will continue to mobilize to force the CEP to recover.

Opont launches an appeal for calm
Following the official publication of the final results of the presidential election, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15868-haiti-flash-final-results-presidential-1st-round.html Pierre Louis Opont indicated that the candidates can not immediately start their electoral campaign, noting that the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) is the only entity entitled to set the date for the electoral campaign.

Pierre Louis Opont calls for calm in the streets, indicating that serenity is necessary for the continuation of the electoral process and that the Electoral Commission will announce shortly the start of the campaign for the elections of 27 December of the candidates of the second round : Jovenel Moïse and Jude Célestin.

Verdict of BCEC of Petit-Goâve
On Tuesday, the Communal Electoral Office of Litigation (BCEC) of Petit-Goâve heard the challenge produced by Félix Salomon Jeune, candidate for Mayor of Petit-Goâve under the banner of the ASK, against Jean Samson Limongy, candidate for Mayor under the banner of PDCH which according to the announcement of the results of the municipal elections, won the victory.

After analyzing the request filed, the BCEC ruled inadmissible, both in substance and in form, the challenge filled by Félix Salomon for  insufficiency of documenyts and kept the results of the CEP. Limongy is indeed the elected mayor of Petit-Goâve. HL/ HaitiLibre / Guyto Mathieu (Correspondant Petit-Goâve)
