Haiti - News : Electoral Zapping... 09/12/2015 12:34:50 The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) does not intend to yield to pressure from the street nor the calls from sectors that are demanding the establishment of an independent commission to verify the results of the elections on October 25. By cons, the CEP says to be open to a postponement of the date of the second round (27 December 2015), but it wishes that it is a institutional approach. The adviser Ricardo Augustin, stated that the CEP is open and willing to receive a proposal from Jude Célestin candidate for president of LAPEH but said to wish that the postponement proposals are made directly with the CEP and not through the media. Fanmi Lavalas remains firm on the streets Maryse Narcisse, presidential candidate of Fanmi Lavalas said "We congratulate the Haitian people who will not let the CEP, the government and the international community. Despite [...] persecution in the neighborhoods and fatigue, our courage and dignity allow us to remain firm on the concrete. This electoral coup will not pass," adding that "mobilization is necessary and indispensable." Adviser Ricardo Augustin, denounces the media hype The electoral adviser Ricardo Augustin, treasurer of CEP, denounced a media hype experienced by electoral advisers, speaking of baseless accusations against citizens who have left their activities to serve the country, Also he says, members of CEP are willing to resign if that is the wish of the society and that an order is issued to this effect, remembering that they had been appointed by a decree... « I'm an institutional man » dixit Jovenel Moïse Monday, Jovenel Moïse presidential candidate of PHTK said at a press conference "I'm an institutional man. The CEP has set a date for the second round, I prepare accordingly. We should not discredit the CEP. Me, I demand better provision for strengthening the second round of elections," adding "In case of defeat in the second round, I'll be ready to work with the next president." Furthermore, he said that people made unfounded accusations of widespread electoral fraud. He recognizes that there were problems with the first round "but you can not discredit the entire process."
