Haiti - Tourism : Towards a certified qualification of the tourism sector professionals
Thursday through its Training Department, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC) launched the "QualiCert" program aimed at certify all tourism professionals in Haiti.

This extensive program covers all links in the tourism chain, including those operating in the training and teaching of tourism institutions and other trades in the field, accompanying guides, drivers, tourist taxis, etc...

It is thus that Thursday at the initiative of the Training Directorate twenty guides attended an information workshop on certification of Tour Guides. Ms Émilie Jessy Menos, Secretary of State for Tourism and Creative Industries, Andy Durosier, Coordinator of the Unit for Studies and Programming of MTIC and Daniel Denis, the Training Director were the main speakers of the workshop.

The information on the various projects implemented in recent years by the Ministry, the identification of necessary skills and abilities to perform the trade of Guide and the presentation and analysis of different current profiles of tourists and the potential of Haiti as a tourism destination were among other topics discussed during this information day.

Note that since 2013 the MTIC has implemented its classification program of tourist establishments "hibiscus label" now with "QualiCert" program and certification of tourism professionals, the Ministry willwill complete the compliance with standards of the tourism industry in Haiti.
