Haiti - FLASH : Storm warning on the new Commission of Electoral Evaluation
Inconceivable and unacceptable for the G8
For the G8, this Commission of Electoral Evaluation does not meet the main demand of the opposition parties, namely a Commission for independent verification.

In an official note signed by Samuel Madistin, the G8 declare to have acquainted, through the press, of the formation of this Commission noting "[...] this Commission has been requested by the CEP in a non-published correspondence [...] It is inconceivable and unacceptable that they can consult together to impose a cosmetic solution to other actors involved in the crisis and the population [...] the G-8 deplores that the executive had not taken the time to consult senators in office and actors involved in the crisis to find the necessary consensus on the choice of personalities called to form the independent Commission of Inquiry requested by all the forces of the Nation."

Fanmi Lavalas disapproves
Fanmi Lavalas disapproves the formation of the Presidential Commission. The Executive Committee of the party wonder about the credibility of certain members of the Commission and closest allies of the team in power. Fanmi Lavalas called for the continued mobilization to force the authorities to order a real verification of Votes Tabulation Center.

The FUSION dismayed !
Edmonde Supplice Beauzile, President of Fusion party of Haitian Social Democrats (FUSION) in a statement, said ahe learned "[...] with dismay the last maneuver of the Head of State, , performed together with his Head of Government, unilaterally creating an electoral Commission to guarantee or assess the electoral process of 2015.

[...] Despite recommendations from all sides both nationally and internationally, the executive confirmed and signed by refusing the establishment of an Independent Commission of Inquiry only capable of try an unlikely rescue of the electoral process."

According to the President of FUSION "The last maneuver of power, far from resolving the problem only aggravates the post-election crisis and remove any possibility of saving the elections of 2015. The Haitian people will not accept the unacceptable and the desperate and unilateral attempt of power will not change anything [...]"

"Pitit Dessalin" qualifies the Commission of null and void
Assad Volcy Deputy Coordinator of the platform "Pitit Desalin" whose presidential candidate Moïse Jean-Charles is a member of the G8, describes as "null and void", this Commission of Electoral Evaluation. Stressing that it has only three days while that according to him at least 15 will be necessary, in order to shed light on fraud and irregularities recorded during the elections of October 25.

The RNDDH doubt the viability of the Commission
Pierre Esperance Executive Director Defense National Network of Human Rights (RNDDH) doubt that this Commission of Electoral Evaluation is viable and can help to restore confidence in the electoral process and promote the resolution of the crisis saying that "The President Michel Martelly can not be judge and party at the same time..."

The Catholic Church exercised caution
After the appointment of Mgr Patrick Aris as one of 5 members of the Commission of Electoral Evaluation https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16089-haiti-flash-president-martelly-announced-the-creation-of-a-commission.html , the Catholic Church exercised caution as it seems not to have been consulted on the choice. The Catholic Church says it will do nothing contrary to what's claims the majority of the population and indicated that it was currently analyzing several aspects of the issue, before deciding on its participation or not in this Commission.
