Haiti - FLASH : Martelly reacts on elections !
The President Martelly in his speech to the Nation for end of year, whose we published yesterday Friday, December 25 extracts devoted to his wishes to the Haitian people, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16155-haiti-politic-wishes-from-president-michel-martelly.html , also did not fail to react to the elections, new extracts that we invite you to share.

Extract of the speech of President Martelly on elections :

"Haitians, my countrymen,

[...]

During my tenure we made every possible sacrifice for the country remains on track for democracy, we made a lot of concessions, we accepted many compromises for the order and security spring into the street, in all homes and in the heart of the population.

During 2015 what was most important to us was the organization of good elections to renew the politicians representing the people.

As we have seen, the elections of August 9 had some problems in some zones and in violence. Everyone can testify that the CEP has made a big effort to correct all these errors in the elections of October 25, all people consequent need to recognize that this day was a historic day, it took place in tranquility, without violence or disorder, in a good organization, but despite this, the opposition stand and demonstrated...

As we always put us at the listening of all sectors of the population [...] we established a Commissionof evaluation to accompany it, a way to reassure all the stakeholders, voters, candidates, observers and the international community, of the will that we have to find solutions that would satisfy the majority of the population.

Although everyone acknowledged that this is the first time a good election was carried out in the country's history, that the international institutions, which have a lot of experience in electoral matters, acknowledged that the results that have been published are the result of the vote of the people [...] we saw in the demands of the opposition, a proof that democracy is strong in Haiti [...]

There are members of the opposition who thought that I would facilitate a candidate of a party that is close to me, I want to assure them that my responsibilities as Head of State, have required instead to go beyond any partisan behavior because my vision is not to facilitate someone, but especially to achieve good elections, and that's what was done.

There are many words you hear, again and I'm happy to say that the elections that have just taken place, were one of the best elections that were held in Haiti [...]

[...] Think of the proverb that says 'baton ki bat chen blan se li ki bat chen nwa' and all those who aspire to be President, but walking in the logic of kraze brize, that want to destabilize the process and the country, think that if tomorrow you're President, you will be a victim of your game. [...]

[...] While I congratulate all elected for their victory in the elections, I ask them to make the transition to democracy an example, so that everyone can see us, an example for the country and our young people who must ensure succession, so that they are working to make the dream of the beautiful Haiti a reality.

I encourage candidates in the second round to respect the rules of the game, to encourage their supporters to vote, vote in order and discipline and mass, it is the only way to build a good democracy.

The Haiti that we want, the Haiti we all dream if we do not turn back to the logic of crisis on crisis... the Haiti that we want will not be created.

I want to appeal to the sense of patriotism of all and ask you to avoid any actions or words that can create division, hatred, intolerance, avoid all the speeches that are personal attacks, defamatory on your next; all the bad behaviors that can prevent the country to live in peace, in fraternity, in unity, in reconciliation and solidarity to leave behind anything that may threaten social cohesion and national unity. [...]
