Haiti - Economy : The BPO sector a promising market of 13,000 jobs

As part of the official launch of the Haiti Sector of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), the Investment Facilitation Center (CFI), presented the promotion efforts of this emerging sector of the Haitian economy, front of representing of the banking sector, senior officials of ministries and decentralized bodies, executives and managers of universities and training centers, members of Chambers of Commerce, Haitian concerned from the Diaspora, representatives of the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA).

The CFI recalled that the process of outsourcing, one of the priority sectors of the Haitian Government for socio-economic transformation of the country, is the transfer of a company's activities to a specialized external provider.

Explaining that the activities are as diverse as IT (call centers, data processing...), human resources (payroll processing), finance (accounting and billing) or marketing and communication (commercial ) among others...

According to the CFI, this sector has the potential to generate in the next 3-4 years 13,000 jobs (5,000 direct and 8,000 indirect jobs jobs). The CFI is convinced that the time is opportune for a better synergy between the various players operating in the sector to take advantage of the unique opportunities available in Haiti.

Furthermore, the CFI took advantage of this event to launch, in collaboration with the "Foundation Avasant" his program "Employment: Digital Youth" consisting to train for the market of Outsourcing Business Processes (EPA). This program will begin in the first half of 2016 with 50 young people with no prior experience. The ambition of the CFI with this program is to put every six months a growing number of young people into the labor market. This training aims to develop the skills necessary for a rapid integration of the EPA market.

Note that this event was supported by the Inter American Development Bank (IDB), the online journal specializing "Nearshore Americas," the "Avasant Foundation," the Firm "Avansant 'and local partners of sector including Digicel, Triangular and "Caribean Contact Center".
