The second round of the presidential elections, the final step in the conclusion of the electoral process, will take place on April 24. "[...] We are pleased that the presence of this mission has had a positive effect in finding a consensus formula between stakeholders" stressing that "To move forward in a form acceptable nationally, the electoral process must be enhanced to inspire more confidence." Luis Almagro, the Secretary General of the OAS, abounded in the same direction, emphasizing on the "[...] need to improve the conditions of the electoral process and the electoral authority (CEP) to improve confidence necessary to get to the election of a new President of Haiti in April," adding "We absolutely need a robust electoral body in Haiti, with clear rules, the implementation of high consensus measures for ensure equity, public confidence and security conditions for the observers on the ground."
