Haiti - FLASH : The General Policy Statement is accepted by the Senate
After the presentation of the statement of General Policy of Prime Minister named Enex Jean-Charles https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16971-haiti-flash-enex-jean-charles-presented-his-general-policy-to-the-senators.html a debate took place, senators expressed their ideas, questioned the Prime Minister, discussed the respect of the agreement of 5 February 2016, the dates included in this agreement, of some additions that should be made to the statement, that an intelligence service could get a legal framework during the transitional period... of initiatives that could be launched during this period that would be continue by the next government.

"[...] I thank all senators who intervened and since I took note of what was said I'll pass them on to each minister so that they can implement them in their ministry [...]" declared Enex Jean-Charles.

Then was read section 158 of the 1987 amended Constitution "Prime Minister in agreement with the President chooses the members of his Cabinet of Ministers and appears before Parliament to obtain a vote of confidence on his General Policy statement. Voting is by public ballot and with at an absolute majority of each of the two (2) Houses. In the case of a vote of no confidence by one of the two (2) Houses, the procedure is repeated."

PM needed 16 votes for his general policy statement is accepted.

At 8h15 p.m. the vote took place, the General Policy Statement of PM got in the Senate, 20 for, 0 against, 0 abstentions.

Now the Prime Minister named Enex Jean-Charles has to appear before the Chamber of Deputies to try also to get a vote of confidence.
