Evans Paul, who spoke at the beginning of the ceremony among others said "[...] the political project to which the country hangs in the short term by the implementation of this agreement, Haiti would benefit to normalize politically and would project a better international image.

I would like to congratulate the good work being done by the parliamentarians who had in hand the destiny of the country they were able to meet this challenge of honor and save what remains of dignity.

The responsibility for the lamentable situation of Haiti that we share as a political actor explains the intensity of the pain we feel at seeing our country tear in a conflict fueled by pettiness, it is time to end the practice of unnecessary confrontation and ridicule of political and social entities strong enough to block the progress of things, too weak to do a compassionate action, it finally came time to transcend our differences to promote patriotic convergence of efforts necessary to manage our destiny of sovereign people.

[...]

I will conclude by renewing their Excellencies President Jocelerme Privert and Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles my warmest congratulations, wishing they drive the national boat safely. I take upon myself to call the actors mainly actors who did not approve the agreement of 6 February to tone down their opposition by bringing to the President Privert and Prime Minister Jean-Charles a support even conditional or critical aimed at the implementation of this agreement intended for institutional political normalization in the country as provided because the constructive dialogue between opponents leaves a republican principle [...]"

Full speech of Evans Paul :

[...]

Ladies and gentlemen Ministers you take your duties at a crucial moment of national life, thank you for all that sacrifice because you will quickly realize that you will have to devote body and soul to the state service. However, I would ask you to measure the extent of the mission entrusted to you, you will not have the risk of grace time, the time is to work, today you need to get to work and find answers to many urgent and priority issues that challenge you in a context of strict fiscal austerity.

[...]
