The candidate Axan D'elson Abellard of party Konbit Nasyonal pour Devlopman (KNDA) announced Saturday, November 20, at 9 days before the election, he withdrew from the presidential race. He invited all his supporters to vote for Mirlande Manigat. Candidate in a bad position in the polls, he explained that his decision to join the candidature of the leading candidate in the polls, is explained by the convergence of ideas with the RDNP program.

Recall that several groups and political platforms have already given their support to Mirlande Manigat for the next election (the National Committee of Evangelical Churches (CONAMISE), the Protestant Network of Haiti, the Haitian Front civic-patriotic (FRONTCIPH) and party Konbit Pou Refè Ayiti of the Mayor of Petion-Ville.

Axan Abellard is the first presidential candidate to withdraw from the race, it will doubtless not the last "In response to this decision, the candidate Jean Hector Anacacis little surprised "That astonishes me that it is the first, but I knew it.
