Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Start of emergency work on the Ladigue river ?
Saturday, April 23, the Senator of West Antonio Chéramy aka "Don Kato" and the Deputy Germain Fils Alexandre visited the bridge and the river Ladigue of Petit-Goâve, following a sit-in held by members of a local organization "POKSA" at the beginning of the past week, which claimed the dredging of the river and the removal of alluvium that threatens the bridge and residents https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-17222-icihaiti-petit-goave-critical-situation-at-the-bridge-ladigue.html

The two parliamentarians noted the magnitude of the situation and said they were more determined than ever to act quickly to save the bridge and protect the city of Petit-Goâve of a possible overflow of water because of sand encroachment of the bed of the river Ladigue.

"The Deputy Germain and myself, soon hit by the cry of the population, we have initiated steps with the National Equipment Center (CNE) [...] A team of engineers and equipment will enter tonight in Petit-Goâve in order to begin the pressing work... But the situation is serious..." declared "Don Kato" who took the opportunity to collect the grievances of the people and walk in neighborhoods devoid of light in the middle of the crowd.
