Haiti - Environment : Total Haiti will plant 20,000 trees 27/04/2016 10:36:49 This initiative began on Friday April 22 at the ecological reserve "Wynne Farm" (Kenscoff), where the public was invited to take part in a fair in celebration of International Earth Day. 5,000 trees have been planted over the weekend and the public could attend workshops and discuss the importance of sustainable development and reforestation. This action also aims to contribute to and promote the "Konbit Rebwazman" launched by Total Haiti in February 2015 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13139-haiti-environment-total-launches-a-competition-in-favor-of-reforestation.html The contest which aims to give visibility and to encourage institutions, associations, individuals and companies already engaged in reforestation projects by making better know and rewarding them. Secondly, additional 10 000 trees will be planted in Thomazeau at the big winner of the 2015 contest Konbit Rebwazman.
