Haiti - Environment : Total Haiti will plant 20,000 trees
As part of its 20th anniversary, Total Haiti decided to plant 20,000 trees. Initially the company chose to set up a nursery to grow 10,000 trees before putting them in the ground.

This initiative began on Friday April 22 at the ecological reserve "Wynne Farm" (Kenscoff), where the public was invited to take part in a fair in celebration of International Earth Day. 5,000 trees have been planted over the weekend and the public could attend workshops and discuss the importance of sustainable development and reforestation.

This action also aims to contribute to and promote the "Konbit Rebwazman" launched by Total Haiti in February 2015 http://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13139-haiti-environment-total-launches-a-competition-in-favor-of-reforestation.html The contest which aims to give visibility and to encourage institutions, associations, individuals and companies already engaged in reforestation projects by making better know and rewarding them.

Secondly, additional 10 000 trees will be planted in Thomazeau at the big winner of the 2015 contest Konbit Rebwazman.

Recall that the 2016 Edition of Contest is underway http://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16352-haiti-environment-total-haiti-launches-its-2nd-edition-of-reforestation-contest.html and will end on June 22 at the awards ceremony to be held at the Karibe.

Total also Haiti, whose mission is to provide access to energy for the greatest number, also took advantage of its presence at the fair in Wynne Farm to present and sell its range of economical solar lamp with 2 year warranty "Awango by Total".
