Haiti - Elections : USA continues to demand the holding of elections 30/04/2016 08:55:01 President a.i. Privert welcomed the progress in the implementation of the Agreement of February 5, including the installation of a government and of a Provisional Electoral Council (CEP). Kenneth Merten, accompanied by the Ambassador Mulrean shared his reading of the situation and the U.S. concerns about the electoral process. Jocelerme Privert explained the importance of the work of the Verification Commission and reiterated his willingness to achieve the holding of free, fair and democratic elections. The Head of State and Kenneth Merten agreed on the need to hold elections in the interest of democracy and the Haitian people. During its stay the American delegation met with Haitian government officials involved in the implementation of the Agreement of February 5, including Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles and Haiti's partners of the international community.
