Haiti - Culture : Christmas lanterns contest
Fokal and American Airlines, with the help of Voilà, Valerio Canez and Sogecarte organizing a Christmas lanterns contest under the theme "Kay pa nou". The competition will comprise two categories: children (7-16 years) and adults (+16 years). Enrollment, mandatory for participation in the contest, will be held on November 23, 24, 30 and December 1, 2 and 3, from 9:30am to 3:30pm at the local of the Fondation Connaissance et Liberté (FOKAL), located at 143 Avenue Christophe.

Each participant can submit only one work, a representative of the various forms of architecture typical of our country (house, church, etc...). The works must be less than 12 inches by 12 inches (30.5 centimeters by 30.5 centimeters) for children. Works of adults may not exceed 20 inches by 20 inches (51 centimeters by 51 centimeters). These works will be carried in "bristol", and tissue paper with color, if necessary, a cardboard base.

The works must be deposited at the FOKAL from december 6 to 10 inclusive, between 9:30am and 3:30pm. No artwork will be accepted beyond this date. The winning works will be retained by the organizers to be exposed in different places. The non-winning pieces will be awarded to participants on Friday, December 17.

A jury of seven will select the best pieces and a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be awarded in each category. A prize for originality and a special prize for a Gingerbread house will be awarded in addition to these top prizes. These awards will be accompanied by numerous awards: tickets, oven, TV, cell phones with recharge cards and gift cards offered by different organizers and sponsors of the competition.
