Haiti - Politic : A $17M Vocational Training Centre for the South
Monday, Jean David Génesté, the new Secretary of State for Vocational Training, accompanied by Guillaumette Merville, Director General of the National Vocational Training Institute (INFP) has introduced to the various sectors of civil society and departmental authorities of the South, the construction project for of a modern vocational school "Brazil Tech".

During the meeting, the Secretary of State explained that this training center, with a capacity of 6,000 students (in two shifts) financed by Brazil at $17 million, within the framework of bilateral cooperation, will proposes 9 programs and 28 courses.

However, Jean David Génesté stated that it returned to the INFP to sell the idea to the South authorities to find before 31 May, a land of about 20 hectares to build this important training infrastructure; pointing to the attention of the authorities of the department, not to miss this opportunity and if that field was not found, the project could be shifted to another department. Recall that the South is the sole of 10 departments that does not have this type of infrastructure.

The Secretary of State Génesté indicated that the works could be launched as early as next June if land is made available.

Following this meeting, the departmental authorities formed a committee to meet with the landowners of the department to make land available for the project.
