Haiti - Agriculture : Intensive training on rural investments
The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Haiti, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development, is organizing from 6 to 17 June 2016, in Les Cayes, an intensive training session to the attention of executives of the Ministry on the formulation tool and investment analysis in rural areas "Rural Invest".

This intensive training is part of support program of FAO in the implementation of the Triennial Plan for Agricultural Renewal initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2013.

"Rural Invest" privileges a participative approach, decentralized and integrated in the process of formulation and analysis of agricultural and rural investment projects. This training aims to strengthen the skills of executives in the agricultural sector particularly in planning and economic and financial evaluation of investment projects. It also aims to better equip the participants in the business plans preparation for business development in rural areas.

Through this training, FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture intend to consolidate their technical cooperation by providing the executives of the Ministry with the technical tools for identifying needs in terms of investment, the development project proposals and their financing plans.

A total of 30 executives of the Ministry of Agriculture, including technical units, decentralized structures (Departmental Directorates North, Northeast, Northwest, Artibonite, Central, West, of Technical departments, among others) will benefit from this high level of training that will be presented by experts from the FAO headquarters in Rome (Italy).
