Senator Steven Benoit, presidential candidate under the banner of the Platform "Konviksyon" [arrived 8th with 17.851 votes, 1.14% of the electorate], member of the G8, said that he would not participate in the next presidential election, saying he will give its full support to the candidate that the G-8 will designate to represent him at these elections. Towards a single candidate for the G8 ? Information suggests that at the approach of presidential elections on 9 October the G8 could nominate a single candidate. Note that two of its members have withdrawn from electoral competition (Steven Benoit and Charles Henri Baker) and a rumor circulates to the effect that Moïse Jean-Charles will not make alliance with the G8 and would run under the banner "Pitit Dessalin". The G8 should infor mof its decision this weekend.
