Haiti - Education : Privert inaugurates two schools on the island of La Gonâve
Friday, the President a.i. Jocelerme Privert, accompanied among others by Jean Beauvois Dorsonne, the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, Lucien Francoeur, Director General of the Fund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES) and Erkki Tuomioja, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland, has proceeded to the inauguration on the Island of La Gonâve of the National School of Pointe-à-Raquettes and the National School of Mare-Sucrin (Anse-à-Galets), in the presence of the main authorities of the two municipalities, whose deputies Jacky Guerrier (Pointe-à-Raquettes) and Micalerme Pierre (Anse-à-galets).

Both school facilities have been funded by the Inter American Development Bank (IDB) and the Government of Finland.

In his remarks for the occasion, the Head of State declared "I thank the players who contributed to the realization of these schools for the benefit of gonâvienne population."

After having ctu the ribbons, Jocelerme Privert visited the different classrooms of two schools.

Each school is provided with:

- Two preschool classrooms (2 x 50 m2)
- Six fundamental classrooms (6 x 50 m2)
- Three secondary classrooms (3 x 50 m2)
- Local Administrative (2 x 12 m2)
