Haiti - Dominican Republic : Continuation of informal bilateral meetings
Monday, the Dominican Chancellor Andres Navarro declared that the situation "informal of Haitian regime" hinders the formal dialogue with the Dominican Republic. However, he estimated that face the political uncertainty in Haiti, after having concluded 14 June the term of 120 days of Provisional President Jocelerme Privert, the relations between the two countries "could be considered as stable".

Navarro recalled that the Haitian Parliament had not yet decided to ratify or to determine a process of change in Haiti, but the Dominican Republic maintained until now informal technical meetings on migration "We do not have official political counterpart in Haiti with which dialogue, however we are grateful to the Haitian government to maintain the administrative and technical coordination."

He took the opportunity to announce that on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 July in Santo Domingo, will be held the 5th meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee (CCC) of the Binational Cooperation Program with representatives of the European Union, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Haitian and Dominican technical team; the opportunity to present the reports of the last 6 months and especially to define the prospects for the next six months and continue to approve the project schedule.

However he insisted that "What will be discussed is a temporary project, because until the political organizations are active in Haiti and that dialogue is established, the decision making is not formal."
