Haiti - Elections : The claims of Haiti are not credible ?
To briefly summarize the findings of foreign players who have organized or participated in the elections of November 28, 2010 (OAS / CARICOM MINUSTAH) and the local authorities concerned (Provisional Electoral Council - CEP, Government), the elections were well conducted, except few minor incidents that in no way call into question the democratic process of elections.

The CEP President and its Director General, spoke of a "buckled and successful day" (?). According to them, only 56 voting centers on 1.500 would been affected by the irregularities reported during the day of Sunday and welcomed it.

Colin Granderson, the head of the Joint Mission of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Caribbean Common Market (CARICOM) "According on comments provided by our teams, we do not believe that the noted irregularities, despite their important, are big enough to challenge the legitimacy of the elections and make imperative its invalidation"

Mr. Granderson has also reported that the Mission noted that rumors and allegations relating to "preparations to carry out massive fraud" were from candidates, especially those who were the favorites in the polls. He regretted that officials of the POC will be dragged into this "toxic atmosphere created by unsubstantiated allegations and have added their voices".

For Minustah and its chief Edmond Mulet, the elections went smoothly despite minor incidents...

President Préval which voted at the Lycée Marie Jeanne, said that "all is well in the elections in Haiti today" and hoped the second round will be realized in the Peace.

The Mission of the OAS/CARICOM (± 250 observers) takes care not to quantify the deprivation of the right of vote of the thousands (See perhaps tens of thousands) of voters at polling centers (CV) destroyed (Only, the polling center destroys near the airport which consisted of 25 polling stations had more than 10,000 registred). We demand the publication of the list of all CVs destroyed and the number of registered voters for each.

The OAS Mission takes care not to put forward a figure for the number of voters who found himself unable to vote because of confusion lists. (POHDH with the Platform for Alternative Development (PAPDA), the organization Solidarite Fanm Ayisyèn (SOFA) and Justice and Peace have estimated that more than half the voters did not find their names on the electoral lists... Even if this figure is only half true is still 25% of voters who are concerned. The mission, rejects the responsibility, on the population, which did not get well informed (while responsibility for the information campaign was the responsibility of the CEP).

The OAS Mission takes care not to quantify the number of voters at national level which could not exercise their right of vote because of violence and intimidation.

The OAS Mission takes care not to quantify the turnout (and deprivation of voting) of voters, when we know that many offices opened very late, and many others were closed well before the scheduled time.

Moreover, the international, based on its few observers dare say that what the Haitians say, are baseless allegations.
The international, blames, indirectly, the capacity of judgment of the candidates at the presidency, who at their eyes, are unable to distinguish an isolated fraud from a massive fraud, while these same candidates had 350,000 representatives (observers) on the entire territory to keep them informed.

The international ignores the facts reported by civil society, which is put in the same batch as those who have exaggerated the situation...

The authorities blame the media for reporting only the problems and not having enough of what worked well! As if it was not the duty of the media to report the incidents ?

In summary, candidates, Haitian civil society, representatives, the people and the media are only "liars" who from minor isolated incidents, were widespread, a situation of fraud. Haiti is without doubt a country that is not comparable to developed countries, but that does not allow the various international organizations that participated in these elections to take all Haitian witnesses not credible. We have the same right as any other country to respect our point of view.

We demand, on behalf of democracy and justice, that these agencies provide quantitative answers, beyond mere minutes, on the harm caused to voters who in the circumstances have been prevented from exercising their right to vote.
