Haiti - Education : Chinese Mandarin courses in Haiti
From the beginning of September 2016, Mandarin courses will be offered to students and professionals in Haiti. Registration is open from 1 August. Four groups of 20 are planned with four hours of class per week. Intensive courses are offered to professionals in weekends.

Recall that these courses are following the agreement of 22 January 2016, signed by the Rector Jacky Lumarque and the Resident representative of Business Development Office of the People's Republic of China in Haiti, Mr. Ling Jun, engaging Quisqueya University (UniQ) and the Confucius Institute Headquarters Hanban, public institution affiliated to the Chinese Ministry of Education to set up a teaching of mandarin to UniQ from next September. A Chinese teacher will be available to the project full time. The new entity will be called "Centre Confucius de l’Université Quisqueya".

The course will cover: grammar, vocabulary, conversation, pronunciation, listening and understanding. The teaching materials used, of recent conception is based on matters of everyday life in China.

Note that when we talk about learning Chinese, we usually speak of learning standard Mandarin which is the official language of the People's Republic of China, Taiwan and Singapore.
